Outreach

Our following of Jesus Christ doesn’t end when we walk out the doors on Sundays - it begins. We take what we learn “beyond the wood and stone”. See how below.

IPM Food Pantry

Kris M. kristinmullin@att.net

Supported by St. Timothy's and other area churches, IPM is a faith based, non-profit agency providing food and other communal support to families in need in eastern Hamilton county and all of Clermont county. St. Timothy’s volunteers serve in a variety of different capacities, including staffing the Choice Food & Clothing Pantries, general office help, special events and fund raising, and opportunities to serve on the Board of Directors.

El Hogar

Kris M. kristinmullin@att.net

El Hogar is an Episcopal boys and girls school in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. Opening its doors to the poor and homeless, El Hogar provides a safe, loving home for about 250 boys and girls. When young men and women leave, they have received a good education and are prepared to work in agriculture, electrical repair, metal work, or woodworking, all skills that are needed in Honduras.  Members of St. Timothy's have made numerous trips to El Hogar and an annual youth trip takes place each June.

St. Timothy's and its parishioners sponsor many boys and girls living at El Hogar. St. Timothy’s parishioner, Kris, is a member of the Board of Directors of El Hogar Ministries Inc. (EHMI), the North American based fundraising organization for El Hogar. She also is the Chairperson for Friends of El Hogar, a Cincinnati based group that raises funds for El Hogar.

Prison Ministry

“ … I was in prison and you came to me…” Matthew 25:35

Members of St. Timothy’s have established a new prison listening program at River City Correctional Center in Camp Washington on Cincinnati’s west side.  The visiting program’s mission is to provide support, encouragement and hope to inmates in a non-judgmental, confidential environment through listening.  It is an extension of the Exodus Listening Program which was started to reduce prison suicide and it has been successfully operating in Northern Kentucky jails for the past 34 years.

In the newest program, we have volunteers visiting a men’s dorm of 55 inmates on a weekly basis and we are in the process of starting a listening program in a women’s dorm.  On each visit to the jail, a two-person team visits privately with individual inmates over a two-hour time period.  They usually listen to between 2 and 4 people in the 2-hour visit.

We are presently bringing on new listeners.  The simple process to become a listener takes about a month.

Lydia’s House

Beth B. bethbronsil@fuse.net

The mission of Lydia’s House is to provide safe, stable and  supportive housing  for women and children in crisis. Their vision is to be a demonstration plot of God’s beloved community, a home where people from all walks of life can help one another grow toward wholeness. They are a Catholic Worker house of hospitality. Watch the eNews for ways to get involved.

Our Daily Bread Sandwich Making

Kate D. katedaly@fuse.net

Jesus commands us to feed the hungry and this is a wonderful way to do that. Even the youngest kids can help. We do not have a regular schedule at this time but will continue to assist this ministry as needed - please email Kate to ask when the next Sandwich Making event will be. Typically held on Sundays at 10:15am in the Parish Hall.

Creation Care Team

Peg F. pgfenner@zoomtown.com

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Then God set about making animals, plants, and finally humans to take care of the garden. The Creation Care Committee believes we are stewards of this beautiful earth and need to treat it as the gift it is. From programs centered on helping the congregation become more informed on how to take care of the world around us, to book discussions and field trips, Peg and the Creation Care team invite us into this sustainable way of living.
